Gerardo Lastra

Gerardo Lastra is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in data science and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at GoodNotes since February 2022, Gerardo previously held roles at Vodafone Business, including Team Leader Data Scientist and Data Scientist, where responsibilities included global technical ownership of Location Insights and developing a modular big data product that assisted in COVID-19 efforts across Europe and Africa. Additional experiences include positions as Backend Software Engineer at Darwinex and Xplain AG, and Software Engineer at CERN, where core software frameworks were designed and maintained. Academic qualifications include a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Universidad de Oviedo, complemented by research in Machine Learning. Gerardo also contributed as a guest lecturer in Data Science and Big Data at U-tad.
