Chris Welch

Chris Welch has a strong background in software engineering and management. Chris is currently working as a Manager of Software Engineering at GoodRx since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at BlackLine as a Manager of Engineering from March 2021 to December 2021. At BlackLine, they managed an engineering team responsible for integrations into the Accounts Receivable Cash product and successfully hired quality talent.

Before joining BlackLine, Chris held various positions at the National Football League (NFL) from June 2011 to March 2021. Chris started as an Application Developer and then progressed to Senior Application Developer, Manager of Software Engineering, and finally Senior Manager of Software Engineering. In these roles, they led front-end video architecture, launched new video experiences, and managed web teams. Chris also provided technical vision, enforced architecture through discussions and code reviews, and supervised up to 6 engineers.

Prior to their tenure at the NFL, Chris worked at Experian Consumer Direct as a Web Developer from September 2008 to June 2011. Chris led various projects, created and maintained versions of FreeCreditReport.com, and ensured W3C compliance and cross-browser consistency.

Earlier in their career, Chris worked at Endeavors Technology as an Associate Software Engineer and later as a Web Developer/Associate QA Engineer. In these roles, they designed sample webpages, developed code for web server applications, built websites using Dreamweaver and HTML/CSS, and maintained client-side automation tools using Visual Basic 6 and VBScript.

Chris Welch attended UC Irvine from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computer Science.
