Ryan Collier

Ryan Collier is currently a Senior DevOps Engineer at GoodRx. Prior to this, they were a Platform Engineer at ConsumerTrack, Inc. from April 2019 to April 2020. While at ConsumerTrack, Ryan led engineering efforts to migrate several legacy applications from EC2 instances to docker containers running on Amazon EKS supported by spot instances - resulting in simplified and standardized deployments at a fraction of the cost of the legacy infrastructure. Ryan also built dynamic feature environments for all core applications that enabled developers to test their code in an isolated environment that resembled production, eliminating deployment pipeline bottlenecks and increasing release velocity. In addition, they improved legacy application CI/CD pipelines by migrating them from Jenkins to CircleCI and Harness - resulting in fully automated build and deploy pipelines that reduced release oversight and increased release velocity from one release a day to four or more.

Looking ahead, Ryan designed infrastructure for the next generation Ad Platform utilizing a serverless architecture composed of Amazon API Gateway, Lambda, CloudFront, and S3 in addition to docker containers running on kubernetes. Ryan also implemented continuous verification of artifact builds using Dynatrace which prevented software bugs from being deployed to production and increased confidence in automated deployment pipelines. Furthermore, they implemented infrastructure as code using Terraform to enforce version control for all infrastructure components and eliminate infrastructure drift between pre-production and production environments. Lastly, they automated QA regression testing by integrating testing into CI and CD pipelines - resulting in automated rollout of verified builds to production.

Ryan Collier attended California State University, Northridge and obtained their Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology. Ryan also has an Associate’s Degree in STEM from Los Angeles Pierce College. Ryan has a certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate.
