Smit Patel

Smit Patel has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and data science. Smit is currently working at GoodRx as a Software Engineer III since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Software Engineer II at GoodRx from January 2020 to January 2022, and Software Engineer from February 2019 to January 2020.

Before joining GoodRx, Smit worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Fox Networks Group from September 2018 to December 2018. During their internship, they developed a Bug Classification application and implemented functionality to identify similar bugs. Smit also created a scraping bot to extract log files and prepared training data using Keras preprocessing. Additionally, they served as a Data Engineer Intern at Fox Networks Group from May 2018 to August 2018, where they automated transformation and quality assurance tasks and modeled data for marketing and revenue teams.

Prior to these internships, Smit worked as a Data Scientist Intern at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California from June 2017 to May 2018. During their internship, they developed applications for generating reports and conducting portfolio analysis. Smit collaborated with business leaders and constructed quantitative analysis models for donor discovery.

Smit's professional journey began as a Full Stack Developer at Wissen Infotech from June 2016 to October 2016, where they developed a client onboarding application using the Java Spring framework. Smit also worked as a Software Intern at 9 Series Solution Ltd. in June and July 2015, where they contributed to the design and development of the "Mentors Around" application using AngularJS and PHP cake framework.

Smit Patel completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Vellore Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2016. Smit then pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science at the University of Southern California from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Smit has obtained various certifications including the USC HIPAA Privacy Education Program from the University of Southern California in July 2017, and certifications from Coursera, DataCamp, and edX in subjects such as Android app development, Python for Data Science, Machine Learning, and Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python.
