Dr. Aisha Walcott-Bryant is the Head of Google Research Africa and a Senior Staff Research Scientist, overseeing innovation in AI technology to combat food insecurity. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Walcott-Bryant previously held a Senior Technical Staff position at IBM Research Africa, where they led various AI projects across healthcare, climate, and mobility sectors. They earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Clark Atlanta University. Additionally, Dr. Walcott-Bryant contributes to the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences. Recognized for their impactful work and leadership in robotics, they have over 35 patents and 30 publications.
