AJ Ortega is a Staff Software Engineer with over 13 years of experience in distributed databases, microservices, static analysis, and high-performance I/O. They have been involved in a range of projects across cloud infrastructure, frontends, developer tooling, and embedded (IoT) systems. AJ has previously worked at notable companies such as Datadog and Google, where they contributed to optimizing big data processing pipelines and serving as a Site Reliability Engineer. They began their academic journey at California State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and participating in the Early Entrance Program. Currently, AJ is continuing their career at Databricks and Google.
