Alan Jin

Alan Jin is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in developing high-performance database systems. At Microsoft, from September 2020 to September 2021, Alan held the position of Senior Software Engineer, where responsibilities included building a low latency scale-out storage service for Azure SQL hyperscale database and enhancing the high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) systems for both Azure SQL Database and Microsoft SQL Server, achieving a 99.99% availability SLA. Prior to this, Alan served as a Technology Summer Analyst at Morgan Stanley in 2015, developing a migration web application and a proof of concept for distributed database log mining. Currently, Alan has been a Senior Software Engineer at Google since September 2021, focusing on Spanner, a globally distributed relational database service. Alan holds a degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, achieved with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
