Alejandra Zapata

Computational Designer

Alejandra Zapata is a professional with extensive experience in academia and architecture, currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University from January 2024 to May 2025. Prior roles include Director of Operations at Ad Hoc Cooperative, Advisor and Civic Leader at AIA New York | Center for Architecture, and a Computational Designer at both Sidewalk Labs and Google. Previous experience also includes consultancy at BBB3RG LLC, Junior Architect at EOA / Elmslie Osler Architects, and Urban Research Associate at The J. Max Bond Center for Urban Futures. Alejandra has participated as an Adjunct Faculty member at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and as a Data Science Fellow at SHPE. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Architecture from Spitzer School of Architecture, a Master’s in Data Analytics and Visualization from Yeshiva University, and a course in Data Science in Real Estate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, complemented by a Summer Study Abroad in Architecture from Fundació Enric Miralles.
