Alex Block

Alex Block has a diverse professional background with experience in quantitative analysis, data science, and academia. At BlackRock, Alex held positions as Associate and Vice President in Risk and Quantitative Analysis, focusing on Fixed Income and Index Asset Allocation Beta Strategies. Following this, Alex worked as a Quantitative Research Analyst at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and contributed to data science and product analytics at Meta. Currently, Alex serves as a Senior Product Analyst in Data Science at Google. Educationally, Alex holds a Master of Financial Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and pursued a PhD at the same institution, complemented by a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, Alex has served as a teaching assistant at both the University of Illinois and Georgia Institute of Technology, with an internship at BlackRock and experience as an Applied Research Mathematician at the National Security Agency.
