Alexander Chen

Alexander Chen is a Creative Director at Google Creative Lab since September 2010, focusing on generative, multimodal AI models and collaborating with model researchers. Prior to this role, Alexander undertook various creative projects as an independent artist from July 2006 to September 2010, launching the popular Conductor project. Additional experience includes freelance art direction at Modernista, design work at The Barbarian Group for high-profile clients such as Virgin Atlantic and Adobe, and design and coding for Euro RSCG Circle on projects for IKEA and MINI USA. Alexander began their career with internships at Vfive and Kioken, specializing in design and creative coding. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specializing in Digital Media Design, from the University of Pennsylvania, completed in 2003.
