Alexander Meulemans

Alexander Meulemans is a Ph.D. candidate at ETH Zürich, focusing on the intersection of machine learning and theoretical neuroscience, specifically in reinforcement learning and the development of novel learning algorithms for neural networks. Prior experience includes a research internship at Microsoft, where work involved distilling large language models, and a role as a research scientist at Google, exploring the fundamentals of intelligent systems. Past positions also encompass roles at Bain & Company as an associate consultant intern, along with various internships in software engineering and neural engineering. Alexander holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Mathematical Engineering, graduating summa cum laude from KU Leuven, and a Bachelor of Music in Viola.
