Andrew O'Brien

Andrew O'Brien has a solid background in telecommunications and network engineering, with experience spanning over two decades. Starting as a Principal Transmission Design Engineer at O2 Ireland from 2000 to 2008, Andrew was responsible for designing and rolling out national SDH radio systems and fibre optic networks. Following that, Andrew served as Project Manager and Telecom Engineer at RTE from 2008 to 2010, where responsibilities included the design and build of radio and fibre optic systems. At Surecom Network Solutions Ltd, Andrew worked as a Transmission Engineer from 2010 to 2011, focusing on wireless Ethernet radio network design and rollout. Andrew then joined Google, where roles included Technical Program Manager and Regional Manager for Core Network Deployments in EMEA from 2011 to 2016, overseeing network capacity, device builds, and connectivity to data centers. Andrew holds a degree in Marine Electronics from Limerick Institute of Technology, obtained between 1991 and 1994.
