Anwar Jappie is the Chairperson of Effie Awards South Africa, where they oversee the recognition of effective marketing campaigns. With over 18 years of experience in consumer-focused and brand-driven sectors, Jappie currently leads several industries at Google, managing partnerships in Telecommunications, Automotive, and Media & Entertainment. They began their career at Unilever, excelling in various marketing roles before transitioning to Nike, where they held multiple leadership positions, including CMO for Nike Africa. Jappie is also a Nelson Mandela Scholar with an MBA from Durham Business School UK and CEIBS Shanghai, and they are passionate about harnessing marketing and innovation for positive impact.
