April Alvarez

April Alvarez has extensive experience in education and community support, beginning as a Teacher and Corps Member with Teach For America, where effective differentiated instruction resulted in significant literacy and math mastery improvements for students. Alvarez then served as the Director of Alumni Services at Eastside College Preparatory School, overseeing a strategic plan for alumni support that benefited over 350 first-generation college students, managing an internship program with notable partners, and refining operational systems for graduate tracking. Additional roles include Student Support Specialist at the Center for Human Services, providing intervention services for at-risk students, followed by positions at Google, where Alvarez led strategic partnerships and developed education and diversity initiatives. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Pace University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
