Aravind Vembu

Aravind Vembu is a seasoned software engineer with experience spanning several renowned technology companies. At Google, from December 2014 to August 2018, Aravind served as a Machine Learning Software Engineer focused on developing classifiers for comment and chat moderation, while also enhancing product equity and inclusion. Additionally, Aravind contributed to backend improvements in music recommendations and search quality for Google Play Music. Prior to Google, Aravind worked at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer, improving audio routing behaviors in the Windows Phone Operating System. Earlier experiences include internships at BBN Technologies, where novel methods for speech recognition and emotion detection were developed, and a research assistant role at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research focusing on speaker verification techniques. Aravind holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Signal and Image Processing from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
