Babak Salamat is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in both academia and industry. As a co-founder and CTO of Fara Rayaneh Eng. Co., Babak contributed to the company's evolution from an Internet service provider to a diversified technology firm between 1999 and 2004. Subsequently, Babak pursued research at the University of California, Irvine, focused on software security, and developed enhancements for mobile applications at Qualcomm. At Cisco, following the acquisition of Virtuata, Babak played a pivotal role as a Technical Leader in designing a virtual machine manager for Intercloud Fabric. Currently, as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, Babak oversees technical design and strategic decisions for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Enterprise, previously serving as a Software Engineering Lead in Google Advanced Technologies and Products. Babak holds a PhD in Computer Science from UC Irvine and two degrees from Sharif University of Technology in Computer Architecture and Computer Engineering.
