Belen Lafon

Belen Lafon is a Senior Research Scientist at Google since February 2021, specializing in advanced research methodologies. Prior to this role, Belen worked at Fitbit from June 2015 to February 2021, progressing from a Research Scientist Intern to a Staff Research Algorithms Scientist, where responsibilities included developing new metrics from physiological signals and designing feature extraction pipelines using Python. Belen held a Graduate Teaching Assistant position at The City College of New York from August 2011 to October 2016, teaching courses in Biomedical Signal Processing and Biomedical Engineering, while also pursuing doctoral studies, resulting in the publication of over five peer-reviewed journal articles on neurophysiology and computational modeling. Belen's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires.
