Brian McEvoy

Brian McEvoy has an extensive background in data science and machine learning, beginning with a role as a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University from 2010 to 2013, where academic focus was on machine learning and computer science. Following this, Brian served as CTO at Jumo.io from 2012 to 2014, successfully securing $2.5 million in seed funding from prominent investors including Andreessen Horowitz and 500 Startups. Brian's career progressed at Uber from January 2013 to April 2015 as a Data Scientist, where efforts were concentrated on optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing routing software logic to improve rider-driver pairings. Currently, Brian works at Google as part of the Google Brain team, conducting research in machine learning and artificial intelligence since 2014. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Machine Learning and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto.
