Brian O'Connell

Brian O'Connell is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and infrastructure management. Currently serving as Principal Engineer at Google since November 2021, O'Connell previously held multiple key positions at IBM from April 2008 to April 2013, including Senior Software Engineer, Senior Technical Staff Member, Advisory Software Engineer, Staff Software Engineer, and Distinguished Engineer. O'Connell's notable achievements include leading a team to transform major sports event infrastructures to a hybrid-cloud setup, developing a cognitive cloud provisioning service that significantly reduced costs, and architecting scalable scoring systems capable of handling massive user loads.
