Burt Herman is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in journalism and innovation within the news industry. Herman served as Korea Bureau Chief at The Associated Press from 2004 to 2008, where leadership included managing coverage of the North Korean nuclear crisis and establishing a regional bureau in Uzbekistan. Subsequent roles included Product Director at Condé Nast (2019-2021) and Chief Executive Officer at Lede (2021-2022). As a co-founder of Hacks/Hackers, Burt has played a pivotal role in uniting journalists and technologists to advance media innovation. Currently, Herman is a coach for the Google News Initiative Pre-Launch Lab, providing mentorship to news startup founders.
