Carl Baron

Staff Software Engineer

Carl Baron is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in both music and software engineering. Beginning as a Fellow at New World Symphony from 2011 to 2014, Carl founded "Impromptu," a celebrated chamber music series recognized by PBS and Time Out magazine, and won a Concerto Competition. Transitioning to technology, Carl served as a Software Engineer and Instructor at App Academy from July 2015 to August 2016, leading a team of 10 developers in creating an internal CRM using Rails, React, and Backbone.js. Carl's career continued at Google, where roles included Staff Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer from 2020 to 2024. Carl holds a Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance, summa cum laude, from Purchase College, SUNY, and a Master's Degree in Cello Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, complemented by a Web Development certification from App Academy.
