Carlos O'Ryan has a diverse and extensive background in technology and engineering, beginning as a Senior Software Engineer at GBO, where development of distributed interactive simulation systems took place for military training. This experience was followed by a role as a Research Assistant at Washington University, contributing to successful open-source projects in distributed real-time systems. Carlos served as CTO at Citi from March 2002 to October 2007, overseeing trading infrastructure before transitioning to Managing Director post-acquisition by Citigroup, focusing on software development for high-frequency trading. Since October 2012, Carlos has held multiple positions at Google, including Site Reliability Engineering Manager, leading a large team responsible for significant storage systems, and as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, developing C++ Client Libraries for Google Cloud.
