Carmen Tang

Carmen Tang is a seasoned security engineer with extensive experience in building tools and infrastructure to detect and respond to security threats. Currently employed at Google since August 2023, Carmen focuses on mitigating security vulnerabilities across Alphabet's products, including AI services. Previously at Meta from August 2020 to February 2023, Carmen developed data pipelines and classifiers to identify threat actors. Earlier roles include a product manager position at TechEquity Collaborative, where Carmen managed civic tech projects addressing economic inequality, and a security engineer role at Facebook, where Carmen created automated malware analysis tools. Carmen began the career as a computer science peer advisor at UC Berkeley College of Engineering. Carmen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and has further education from University College Dublin.
