Carolyn Krol has an extensive background in law and policy, with significant experience in artificial intelligence and privacy. At Facebook, Carolyn served as ARVR Counsel for a brief period in 2020. Currently, Carolyn is an Affiliate Instructor of Law at the University of Washington School of Law, teaching an Artificial Intelligence Law Seminar starting in Autumn 2025. Previous roles include Director of Global Privacy & Data Policy at Termly, Associate General Counsel at Meta, and regulatory counsel at Google. Carolyn also has experience as a law clerk at the Federal Trade Commission and as a junior paralegal with Gordon & Rees LLP. Carolyn holds a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with a Mathematics Minor from Santa Clara University.
