Chao Guo

Chao Guo is the Engineering Director at Google, where they lead the augmented and virtual reality team focused on world-sensing technologies. With a deep interest in visual-inertial odometry, large-scale mapping, and localization, Chao has made significant contributions to AR and VR products, including ARCore. They earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, where they also worked as a research assistant, developing high-precision 3D localization and mapping technologies. Prior to their current role, Chao held various engineering positions at Google, managing teams responsible for motion tracking and sensor calibration.
