Chun-Ta Lu

Chun-Ta Lu is a highly experienced software engineer with a strong background in computer vision and machine learning. At Google, from May 2018 to October 2022, Chun-Ta served as a Staff Software Engineer, leading a research group focused on enhancing the robustness of computer vision models and developing multimodal content safety solutions. Prior to this, Chun-Ta worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago from May 2013 to May 2018, progressing from a Graduate Research Assistant to a Senior Software Engineer, where contributions included developing tensor factorization techniques for deep neural networks. Additional experience includes internships at Google, where Chun-Ta worked on large-scale classifiers and semi-supervised neural networks, and as a Web Developer at BIKE ID Co., Ltd, creating websites for the Taipei City Government. Chun-Ta holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from National Chiao Tung University.
