Cooper Elsworth is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geophysics at Stanford University, studying ice flow from the Antarctic continent and the impact of climate change on ice sheet mass loss. They aim to develop models that help predict sea level rise and are also focused on the intersection of climate science, environmental policy, and sustainable business practices. Currently, Cooper serves as a Technical Program Manager for Carbon Data Solutions at Google, where they identify and develop data and software solutions to support the company's decarbonization goals. They have previously held various positions, including Climate Advisor at Watershed and Product Manager at Descartes Labs, where they worked on sustainability initiatives. In addition to their academic and professional pursuits, Cooper enjoys rock climbing, trail running, and adventure travel.
