Dai Derek Wu has extensive experience in both actuarial analysis and software engineering. Beginning as an Actuarial Analyst at Blue Shield of California from October 2010 to September 2014, Dai provided pricing support for Medicare Part D products and restructured databases for health experience reporting. Following this role, Dai volunteered as a Curriculum Developer and Program Coordinator at Code 7370 - The Last Mile, creating educational resources for San Quentin prisoners and providing mentorship in front-end web development. Dai then served as a Software Engineer at VIOLET GREY from July 2015 to December 2016, contributing to e-commerce features and transitioning applications to React. Currently, Dai is a Software Engineer at Google since February 2017. Additionally, Dai has academic experience as a Calculus Lab Tutor at UCSD Math Department and has contributed to student learning as a Hacker In Residence at Hack Reactor.
