Dan Nelson

Dan Nelson is a highly experienced software engineer and machine learning expert, currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Google since August 2025. Previously, Dan worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Replicate from December 2022 to July 2025 and held the position of Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Rent The Runway from January 2021 to September 2022. Dan's career began at Indeed, where roles included Senior Data Scientist, Senior Software Engineer, and Senior Intern from May 2016 to January 2021. Prior to that, Dan contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin from January 2016 to May 2016 and worked at NI (National Instruments) as an Academic Product Manager and Applications Engineer from August 2011 to May 2015.
