Dave Crossland

Dave Crossland has a diverse background in design, technology, and management. Starting as a Student Technician at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, Dave transitioned into a role as a GNU+Linux Systems Administrator at BBC, where responsibilities included user support and service strategy development. In 2006, Dave founded Understanding Limited, providing computer coaching and technical support before shifting focus to remote systems administration and usability design. After extensive experience at Google in various roles related to Google Fonts, including Senior Program Manager and currently as Staff UX Programmes & Operations, Dave leads font development initiatives, leveraging expertise in type and typography. Educational qualifications include a BA in Graphic Information Design and Interaction Design from Ravensbourne University London, an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, and an Art & Design Foundation Diploma from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth.
