David Simcha

David Simcha is an experienced professional in bioengineering and software engineering, holding a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and a BS from Rutgers University. At Johns Hopkins University from July 2007 to November 2012, David focused on developing novel statistical and machine learning methods for gene regulatory networks and improving gene expression detection techniques. Since November 2022, David has been a Principal Software Engineer at Google, where responsibilities include creating technology for large-scale vector similarity search, contributing to ScaNN, the Cloud Vertex AI Matching Engine, and Google's internal machine learning ecosystem. Prior experience at Google from December 2012 to October 2014 involved progressive roles from Software Engineer III to Senior Staff Software Engineer.
