David Weller

David Weller is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in trade and economic policy. Most recently, Weller served as Senior Director of Emerging Tech, Competitiveness & Sustainability Policy and previously held roles as Director of Economic & Trade Policy and Head of Global Trade Policy at Google from January 2023 to October 2023. Prior to Google, Weller was a Partner at WilmerHale from 2006 to November 2013 and worked at the U.S. Trade Representative from 2001 to 2006 as Deputy Assistant USTR for China and Assistant General Counsel. Weller began a legal career as an Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore from 1999 to 2001. Academic achievements include a JD from Columbia University School of Law (1995-1998) and a BA in East Asian Studies from Harvard University (1988-1993).
