Derek Hoagland has extensive experience in the mechanical and HVAC/R industries, having held various positions across multiple companies. Starting as a Service Manager at Royal Refrigeration from August 2008 to May 2014, Derek progressed to roles such as Chiller Mechanic at Harris and Service Supervisor at Ontario Refrigeration Services, Inc. Derek then worked as a Field Service Technician at EMCOR Facilities Services and Envise before taking on the role of Industrial Mechanic at ACCO Engineered Systems from July 2019 to July 2025. In addition, Derek has contributed to the education of future professionals as a Local 525 JATC Instructor for UA Local 525 from January 2022 to July 2025. Currently, Derek serves as a Data Center Facilities Technician at Google where responsibilities include leading the Mechanical Team and acting as a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert since December 2022.
