Diego Tipaldi

Diego Tipaldi is an experienced engineer and technical leader specializing in computer vision, machine learning, robot perception, artificial intelligence, and decision-making. They have a strong track record of delivering end-to-end systems, managing high-performing teams in both academia and corporate research. Diego worked as a postdoc researcher and assistant professor at the University of Freiburg, as well as a teaching assistant at the University of Roma "La Sapienza." They held engineering management positions at Apple and Meta before becoming an Engineering Manager at Google, where they currently lead efforts in augmented reality. Diego earned a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Robotics from Sapienza Università di Roma.
