Duncan Hanson is an accomplished software engineer with a strong background in data analytics and site reliability. Duncan began a career as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech and NASA Jet Propulsion Lab from September 2010 to August 2012, followed by a position as a CITA National Fellow at McGill University until December 2014. Duncan transitioned to Google in January 2015, initially serving as a Software Engineer in Ads Attribution and Budgeting, before advancing to roles including Staff Software Engineer in Cloud Data Analytics and Software Engineer in Site Reliability. Currently, Duncan holds the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer in Cloud Data Analytics (BigQuery) at Google, starting in November 2024. Educationally, Duncan obtained a Bachelor's Degree from The University of British Columbia and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Cambridge.
