Eric Brewer is a distinguished computer scientist with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as Vice President of Infrastructure and Google Fellow at Google since May 2011, Brewer also holds a professorship at UC Berkeley, which began in January 1994. Prior to Google, Brewer was the Director of Intel Research Berkeley from June 2005 to June 2008 and co-founded Inktomi, where Eric worked from January 1996 to January 2003. Brewer earned a PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between August 1989 and August 1994 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, completed in May 1989.
