Erin McKean has extensive experience in editorial management, publishing, and technology. Beginning with Pearson Scott Foresman as Editorial Manager for Reference from 1998 to 2000, Erin later held the positions of Editor in Chief and Chief Consulting Editor for American Dictionaries at Oxford University Press between 2005 and 2006. As a columnist for "The Word" at The Boston Globe from 2009 to 2012, Erin also founded Reverb Technologies Inc. (2008-2014) and Wordnik Society (2014-present). In the realm of technology, Erin served as Developer Advocate and Lead StrongLoop & Node.js Developer Evangelist at IBM from 2017 to 2018, focusing on supporting Node.js developers. As Developer Relations Program Manager and now Senior Developer Relations Engineer at Google since 2018, Erin has been dedicated to enhancing the open source contributor experience. Erin's editorial expertise is further demonstrated through an ongoing role as Editor of VERBATIM: The Language Quarterly since 1997. Erin holds an AB/AM in Linguistics from the University of Chicago (1989-1993).
