Franz Och

Franz Och is a distinguished research scientist currently at Google, where they have made significant contributions in various roles since 2004. They served as a Chief Data Scientist at Human Longevity, Inc. from 2014 to 2016, and held the position of Director at Facebook from 2018 to 2022. Och's earlier career included research roles at the Information Sciences Institute and at GRAIL, Inc., where they were Head of Data Science. They earned a PhD in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University after completing a Diplom at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, as well as studies at the Università di Bologna and Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg.
