Fred Gilbert is an accomplished design professional with extensive experience in user experience leadership across prominent technology companies. Currently serving as VP and Head of User Experience for Google Workspace since November 2022, Fred focuses on enhancing hybrid work through intelligent software. Previously, as VP and Head of User Experience at YouTube from July 2014 to April 2022, Fred built a diverse team of over 320, launching various impactful features and receiving multiple design honors. Fred's foundational years at Google, from 2007 to 2014, included roles as Director of UX in Social and Designer for Google Mobile Maps, where significant contributions were made to projects like Google+ and Google Maps. Fred also served as an instructor at Carnegie Mellon University and holds a Master's degree in Interaction Design from the same institution.
