Ben-Ishai is currently the Head of Economic Research at Google, a position they have held since 2020. Previously, they served as Principal at The Brattle Group from 2017 to 2020 and as Chief Economist at the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York from 2014 to 2017. Ben-Ishai gained experience as a Senior Consultant at NERA Economic Consulting between 2012 and 2014 and worked as a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon from 2009 to 2012. They pursued a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toulouse, supported by the EU Competition Policy Network, from 2004 to 2005.
