Hans Chao is a highly experienced energy and sustainability professional with a career spanning over 17 years in various engineering and consultancy roles. Most recently serving as a Senior Energy Engineer at ARUP from September 2011 to July 2023, notable projects include the Amazon NZC Sustainably Prototype Package and the Equinix LD11 xScale data centre. Prior to ARUP, Hans held positions as a Sustainability & Energy Consultant at Metropolis Green, Lead Building Energy Consultant at AtkinsRéalis, and Sustainability Engineer at Foreman Roberts. Additional experience includes work at Google as a Sustainability Engineer and early career roles at Bryden Wood and Cundall. Hans holds a Master's degree in Engineering with Business Finance from UCL.
