Ion Bita

Ion Bita is currently the Head of Display Architecture and New Technology Introduction at Google, focusing on Pixel Phones, Watches, and new products. Previously, Ion held the position of Senior Hardware Development Manager at Apple, where they led development of confidential optoelectronic technologies. Ion's career began at DuPont Displays as a Graduate Research Assistant, following a strong academic background that includes a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and dual BSc degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ion also served as a Senior Staff Engineering Manager at Qualcomm, driving the development of innovative MEMS-based reflective displays and winning a SID display award in 2012. With over 45 issued US patents, Ion is recognized as an innovative leader in consumer electronics R&D and product development.
