Irfan Essa

Irfan Essa is a Distinguished Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where contributions span research and teaching in diverse areas such as Computer Vision, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Essa serves as the Senior Associate Dean and Executive Director of the Center for Machine Learning at Georgia Tech, overseeing various academic initiatives. With a rich background in video analysis, robotics, and animation, experience includes roles at Google as a Principal Research Scientist and at Disney Research as a Consultant. Prior work includes a Research Scientist position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on projects related to facial recognition and behavior analysis.
