J Y.

J Y. is an experienced engineering professional with a robust background in technology and leadership. Since September 2011, J Y. has served as the Director of Engineering at Google, focusing on areas such as Ads, YouTube, search, recommendation, and video understanding, leveraging expertise in machine learning, infrastructure, and full-stack development. Prior to Google, J Y. worked as a Software Engineer at Brion Technologies from February 2008 to September 2011, where responsibilities included algorithm design, optimization, and full-stack development. J Y. began the career as a Research/Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Riverside, from September 2005 to December 2007 and briefly interned at Microsoft Research Asia in September 2004, specializing in speech recognition. J Y. holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, a Master’s in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.
