Jacob Burnim is a Staff Software Engineer at Google, where they work on the Google Search Quality, Core Ranking team, focusing on large-scale machine learning systems for web search. Previous to this role, Jacob served as Principal Software Engineer and Director of Engineering at Sift Science, leading initiatives to combat fraudulent content through machine learning. Jacob began their career with internships at Symantec and Google and gained research experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley, where they earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science. They also hold a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Caltech.
