Jalon Thomas is a skilled software engineer and researcher with experience in both academia and industry. At the University of Virginia, Jalon worked as an undergraduate researcher from March 2021 to May 2022, applying machine learning techniques to diagnose vestibular and neurological conditions in mice and contributing to a publication on stress-induced despair behavior. Following this, Jalon interned at Textron Systems in the summer of 2022, developing a security tool for compliance checks and designing a user-friendly GUI using Qt Creator. In the summer of 2023, Jalon further advanced skills as a software engineer intern at Google. Currently, Jalon is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Virginia, expected to graduate in 2024.
