James Cook

James Cook is a senior software engineer with extensive experience in virtual worlds and user interface design, currently working at Google. Primarily focused on client-side C/C++, they have contributed to the development of the Chrome browser and AdWords web front-end. Before their software engineering career, Cook practiced as a pool physician at Kaiser Permanente. They also served as a senior engineer at Linden Lab, where they designed virtual world search functionality and led a team on usability projects. Cook holds an MD from the University of California, Davis, an MS from Caltech, and a BA from UC San Diego.
