James Spooner

James Spooner is a Principal Engineer at Google, currently leading the XLA team in London and collaborating with Google Deep Mind to enhance the AI/ML technology stack. They previously served as an Engineering Manager at Google and held various roles in companies such as Meta, Endace, and Entronomy NZ Ltd. Spooner began their career as a Research Programmer at The University of Waikato, where they also earned a BCMS with first-class honors. Additionally, they have experience in computing engineering within the Americas Cup Management organization and have held leadership positions in finance acceleration at Maxeler Technologies.
