Jeff Dean

Jeff Dean is the SVP of Google Research and Health. Jeff is also an AI researcher and software engineer, and has been with Google since 1999.

Prior to joining Google, Dean was a Senior Member of Technical Staff at mySimon, Inc., where they designed and implemented a system for retrieving and caching electronic commerce content. Jeff also co-designed a tracking system that logged user activity and performed various analyses of user behavior.

Before mySimon, Dean worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Washington, where they conducted research in computer architecture, compiler optimization, and networking. Jeff also worked as a Member of Research Staff at Western Research Laboratory, Compaq Computer Corporation, where they conducted research in parallel computing architectures and algorithms.

Jeff Dean received their Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Washington, their M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington, and their B.S. in Computer Science & Economics from the University of Minnesota.
