Jeff Gardner has a robust academic and professional background in the fields of astronomy, physics, and research. Gardner served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Pittsburgh from 2001 to 2003, followed by a role as a Senior Research Scientist and affiliated Assistant Professor at the University of Washington from July 2008 to January 2010.
